While driving the backroads of South Carolina time can slip away quickly. So I needed to head toward the Interstate to start making up some time. As I drove through Clinton to pick-up I-26 I noticed and drove past Whiteford's Giant Burger. So I turned around and stopped there for a 13:00 lunch and the place was packed. I got a Superburger platter with everything. It comes with hand-cut fries, slaw and a Superburger with lettuce, tomato, pickles, onions and mayo. The slaw, fries and sweet-tea were all excellent! (endless refills). The Superburger in all of it's messy glory was wonderfull! This location, with it's proximity to Presbyterian College (within walking distance) probably explains the other reason it's so popular. The original 1957 Whiteford's Giantburger is in Laurens, South Carolina.
