In 1940 Hansel Hurst opened the first Snow White Grill in Frederick, Maryland. The first grill spawned what was once a small regional burger chain with locations in Martinsburg, West Virginia, Frederick, Hagerstown and Baltimore, Maryland, and Winchester, Virginia. Today, only the Winchester, VA location remains. The Winchester Snow White Grill, designed by Luther Reason Ray (of the Structural Porcelain & Enamel Co.) was built in 1949. Bold porcelain and enamel siding covers the exterior and its very unique blue shingled roof. The Snow White serves little burgers (sliders) made of fresh ground beef that has onions already mixed in with the meat. The burger is cooked fresh and is topped off with American cheese (optional), and a pickle. My three were very good. They do take VISA. Note: The Snow White Grill is located on the pedestrian mall section of Loudon Street.
