This is the original 1949 Short Sugar’s Pit Barbeque. Their pork is pit cooked over hickory slats that are burned down to the coals. I got the sliced pork plate. The plate came with slaw, fries and hushpuppies. I also got a sweet tea and a side of baked beans. My tea was excellent! It had a good strong flavor. My fries were also very good. The sweet coleslaw was made of white and green cabbage. The sweet slaw was excellent! My baked beans were very good and they were even better with a little sauce added to them. My sliced Q was masterfully cooked. The Q had an outstanding taste and was very tender and juicy. Short Sugar's sauce is vinegar based. The vinegar and spices give the sauce a nice kick and a very notable taste.
