If Bismarck was named after the jelly-filled doughnut instead of Otto Von Bismarck, this town would be a much livelier place with more bakeries. But, even without a bakery on every corner, any city with a great drive-in can't be all that bad. Scotty's is open from 7am to 9pm Monday-Saturday snow or shine (Bismarck has seen snow in June). They are closed on Sunday and they are open year round. They serve breakfast from 7am to 11am and lunch/dinner till 9pm. Their menu has about 90 items on it including; The Outlaw (3/4lb. burger with BBQ sauce, Jalapeño bacon, onions and Jack cheese), Indian Taco (hamburger, cheese, lettuce, tomato, sour cream and salsa on fry bread), Rancher Dog (1/4lb. beef hotdog with shredded cheese, bacon and ranch dressing), Big Scotty (their version of a Big Mac), Rebel burger (3 patties, 2 cheese, ketchup, mustard, onions and pickle), Fleishkeukla (ground beef and ground pork patties enclosed in dough and deep-fried), Tartar burger (ketchup, mustard, onions, pickles and homemade tartar sauce), frozen Pepsi and Dew. From 4pm to closing you can also get their ham-burgers for 89cents and the cheese-burgers for 99cents. The Rebel burger is the most popular item. Scotty's uses local Bismarck Cloverdale meat for their dogs, sausages and bacon. The homemade tartar sauce I sampled was very good as were my cheeseburgers and sweet fried dough for dessert. Scotty's Drive-In has been in Bismarck since 1964. Enjoy!
