Down yonder @ the top of the hill (near Bullock Hollow) on the gravel wayside you will find Ridgewood BBQ. Park wherever you can and don’t mind the line because there will always be one. The first thing you need to do is to make sure that the lady at the door has your name and number of people in your party. They will call out your name when they are ready to seat you. Ridgewood BBQ (Since 1948) is locally owned and operated by the Proffitt family. Ridgewood pit-cooks and hickory smokes their hams. My outstanding ¼ lb. sliced Q sandwich had a grilled bun and was topped with slaw. Served in a small brown crock, my BBQ baked beans were truly some of the best I have ever had. The sweet tea with lemon was excellent and they are very fast with the refills. Ridgewood is definitely worth finding, it’s definitely worth the wait, and they do take VISA. Enjoy one of the best Q houses on the map!
