We drove into Nashville in the pouring rain, thanks to Tropical Storm Lee, and headed to the District (Downtown Nashville). If you can't find a parking spot on Broadway there are garages in the vicinity. Inside Jack's (since 1976), you queue up and move along in a cafeteria-like serving line. Your choice of meat is first; pork, beef brisket, ribs etc. Then come your sides; green beans, baked beans, slaw, Mac & Cheese, baked apples etc. and finally your drink cups and the register. The drinks and Q sauce are to your left past the register. If the main seating area is full they also have seating upstairs. Jack's uses Tennessee pork shoulders that are dry rubbed and then hickory smoked. I got the pork plate with baked beans and sweet apples. The baked beans and the sweet and smoky Q sauce were both excellent. The chopped pork and the apples were also very good. Enjoy!
