Their first restaurant opened in Baldwin Park, California in 1948. The iconic arrowed In-n-Out is a regional family owned chain with the crux of their 313 locations covering most of California (229 locations). Arizona (29), Nevada (16) and Utah (10) make up their Mountain State locations and Oregon’s one and only location (opened in 2015) rounds out their Pacific Northwest region. Texas, with its 32 gets Dixie and the Deep South into the mix. But, the most important location of them all for me is the Austin, Texas In-n-Out on 4515 Airport Blvd. because, this is where I had my first In-n-Out burger. A superb cheeseburger to be exact, with toasted buns, grilled onions, American cheese, lettuce, tomato, spread (basically thousand- island), mustard, ketchup a Coke and some very good cottonseed oil cooked fries nicely placed in an easy to carry red bucketed tray. You order and pay @ the register, get your number, find a table and they will call your number out when it’s ready. Enjoy!
