Be it a sip, a shot or a jigger it's never a good idea to drink on an empty stomach. Unlike Lynchburg, Tennessee, (Jack Daniel's) Bardstown and Nelson County are wet, so before you venture out into the Bourbon Capitol of the World (Bardstown) and beyond, stop by the Hurst Drugstore & Soda Fountain (circa 1940's) in downtown Bardstown and fuel up on one of their famously delicious chicken salad sandwiches accompanied by a cherry Pepsi or one of their great shakes (see menu).
