Freddy's Frozen Custard & Steakburgers, Oak Ridge, Tennessee

After endlessly searching for a place that was either permanently closed or never really existed (except on Delp!), the reduced speed ahead sign welcomed me to Oak Ridge, Tennessee. Just as I was ready to head back to Knoxville, I saw a Freddy's Steakburger. Not even remotely aware of Freddy's (380 stores in 31 states , including Virginia, with 3 in Dubai) I just couldn't pass up a place with a giant illuminated ice cream cone on the side of the building, let alone a steak-burger place. Freddy's opened it's first place in Wichita, Kansas in 2002. Instant success led to two more stores and later franchising rocketed growth to the 380 & Dubai. Their burgers are cooked to order and are never frozen. My Awesome Double steak-burger had two smashed patties, toasted bun, mustard, onions, ketchup and two long pickle stackers. No Coke, just Pepsi. Although I am not really a fan of shoestring fries, mine were still very good.

Great review and beautiful photos. Of course, we've come to expect that from Chopped Onion! The Freddy's burgers in Chattanooga are so good because they're radioactive.
