Hip & trendy usually does not describe most of the burger places I visit. Paper plates, plastic cups and a gravel parking lot full of pick-up trucks is the norm. @ Flip Burger you will find white china plates, napkins that don't tear, glasses, silverware, stainless steel cups for the ketchup, mayo, etc., celebrity chefs (Richard Blais: Top Chef Chicago) and a lot full of Caddy's and Land Rovers. Right off the bat, Flip Burger gets an A for its 100% grass-fed beef and high marks for their unique menu. I got the Farmer burger with fries, a Coke and a Krispy Kreme milkshake. The beef @ Flip Burger is a combination of short ribs, hangar steak and brisket that is ground in-house. My top-notch Farmer burger (Gum Creek organic grass-fed beef) came with smoked mayo, an heirloom tomato, a Vidalia onion and pickles. The burger was paired with some very good fries and a bottomless Coke. I had the Krispy Kreme shake to go. Basically, it's a very good vanilla milkshake with bits of glazed Krispy Kreme donut pieces mixed in topped off with liquid nitrogen for effect. I found Flip Burger to be a great place, but with $3.00 Cokes, $11.00 (and up) burgers, $6.00 shakes and tip, Flip Burger can quickly become an expensive habit. Enjoy!
