When it's hot enough to make a tar road melt in Athens, the locals head to the Dairy Barn to cool off. I saw and passed the Barn heading south on Route 11 and decided a quick u-turn was needed. Minuets later (They can be crowded at times) my very good french vanilla shake (I don't know why they did'nt have regular vanilla) was cooling me down nicely. The Dairy Barn is open seasonally from the last Friday in February to the last Sunday in September. Enjoy!
