A few blocks west of the brass star (inset into the marble steps of the Alabama State Capitol) that marks the spot where Jefferson Davis was inaugurated President of the Confederate States of America (C.S.A.), you will find another historic site, Chris' Hotdogs. Chris' has been making their superb hotdogs since 1917 and the famous have been stopping by ever since including: Bart Starr, Tommy Shaw (Stixx), President Truman, Bill Walton, Sissy Spacek, FDR, President George W. Bush and Elvis. Hank Williams Sr. was a regular @ Chris' and many of his songs are said to have been written here. My two exceptional dogs (grilled dogs/steamed buns) were topped with mustard, ketchup, onions and chili and I even got free refills on my Coke. Enjoy!
