Their Boston Butts are smoked daily with hickory and premium lump charcoal. Their premium lump charcoal is a mix of red & white Virginia oak. The charcoal is manufactured in Rocky Mount by the Smith Mountain Charcoal Co. My pulled pork plate (North Carolina Style) was scrumptious all on it's own, but even better with their home-made sweet honey barbeque sauce (all the sauces are home-made). Great slaw with a light vinegar finish and truly outstanding baked beans (Wow!). These baked beans are some of the best I have ever had. Their ingeniously long twisted hushpuppies are also great side. Locally family owned & operated Buddy's current location opened on July 4th 2021.
I would like to go to Buddy's as soon as I finish typing this! Great photos. I want to try everything, including the twisted hush puppies. Chopped Onion, you never fail me!
