The Lodge's original 1953 wood interior, especially the square wood ceiling lights, alone are worth the visit. The original neon signs are exceptional, Patty Loveless once worked here as a waitress, Leon Rippy, Eileen Fulton, Brad Daugherty and Ric Flair have all eaten here, Andie MacDowell frequently stops by and this is Billy Graham's favorite barbecue. If I have not given you enough reasons to stop by yet, here is one more, the food! Bridges slow pit-cooks their pork shoulders over hickory coals. I had the sliced, already sauced, Q tray. The vinegar based sauce is blended with ketchup and other spices. The tray is actually a boat with slaw @ the stern and Q @ the bow. To drink, I had an excellent small pitcher of sweet tea with lemon. I also added a side of beans and some hushpuppies. The Q was tender and excellent! The beans and red slaw were very good and the lightly fried puppies were outstanding. Enjoy!
