At lunchtime, this place can get crowded quickly. You can squeeze into one of the few spots out in front of the place or you can park around the back near the magnolia. Inside, you order at the window and they bring your order to your table. The Brick Pit’s white interior walls and ceiling are covered with signatures. I didn’t see any famous signatures, but hundreds have left their mark. I ordered the pulled pork sandwich and a sweet tea. My Q sandwich had two thick Texas Toast size slices of white bread instead of a bun. The tender pork was excellent! The Brick Pit cooks its pork for 30 hours, yes 30 hours, over a blend of hickory and pecan coals, pecan wood because it cooks longer than most other wood. And the tomato & vinegar-based sauce topping the pulled pork just added to the already excellent taste. The sweet tea was ok. It just wasn’t as sweet as I normally like it.
