The Byrd drugstore & soda fountain is as original as it gets. The building’s architecture is solid, the vintage
neon out in front is amazing and they still have their original green and white Deco woodwork behind the soda fountain. When I
eat at a vintage lunch counter/soda fountain I get a grilled cheese and a milkshake. At Byrd’s, the grilled cheese
comes with a side of pickles and the milkshake comes in a frosted cold stainless steel mixer cup. My grilled cheese and pickles
were very good and my vanilla milkshake was excellent! Byrd’s uses Blue Bell ice cream in their milkshakes.
