As soon as you enter Litton’s front door, head towards the chalkboard. Grab the chalk and write down your last name and the number of people in your group. They call out the names when they have a seat or booth ready for you. Litton’s is located in the neighborhood of Fountain City in Knoxville. Litton’s is famous for their hamburgers, so that’s what I got. Litton’s burgers are made of USDA choice top round only. The beef is ground fresh daily and the buns are made fresh daily in Litton’s own bakery (The Fountain City Bakery). My freshly cut fries came in a red plastic basket on parchment paper. They were excellent. My Litton Burger with cheese came with lettuce, tomato and sweet onions. My burger was cooked to perfection. It was excellent! It took both hands to eat it. Not only was the burger excellent, but it had the best tasting burger bun I’ve ever had. In addition to my Litton Burger with cheese, I tried some of my roadie’s hotdog. The dog came covered with melted cheese, chili, onions, and slaw. The dog was beef, the bun was bakery fresh and it came with fresh cut fries. The dog with all of its toppings was excellent. Even if you are stuffed at this point, you can’t help but notice all of the cakes and goodies behind the glass display cases. I figured I should at least try one of the strawberry cupcakes with the cream cheese frosting on them. My cupcake was simply incredible! The bakery fresh cupcake had a rich strawberry taste that oozed through every soft crumble of the cake and the cream cheese frosting just made it even better. Litton’s also has: Red Velvet Cake, Italian Cream Cake, Chocolate Cake, Strawberry Cake, Day & Night Cheesecake, Cream Cheese Brownies, Pecan Pie, Key Lime Pie & Chocolate Chess Pie.  All of the Litton’s desserts are made in their Fountain City Bakery.
